GAINESVILLE, FL August 20, 2018 The University of Florida’s Transportation and Parking Services Department has opened a new Orange decal parking lot on campus, providing 225 additional parking spaces.

The Flavet Lot is located next to Flavet Field, across Museum Road from the Honors Residential College at Hume Hall.  Access is on the north side of Museum Road through the Red decal parking lot.

Previously, this site contained tennis courts donated to the parking lot project by UF’s Department of Recreational Sports.  In return, Transportation and Parking Services will contribute to a future RecSports improvement project benefiting students.

The new Flavet Lot is the first in a series of parking changes revolving around the construction of a new parking garage at the Commuter Lot on Gale Lemerand Drive. Work on that project, known as Garage 14, is scheduled to begin in in November, and the garage is expected to open in February 2020.

More information about Garage 14 will be posted soon at parking.ufl.edu and on Twitter by following @UFTAPS.
