Everyone who parks a vehicle on campus must follow UF's parking rules. A summary of the rules is provided below. Please read the summary carefully. If you are aware of the rules, you are less likely to be cited.
Violation of the above rules will result in the issuance of a parking citation. Vehicle impoundment may result if: IMPOUNDMENT (BOOTING/TOWING): Accumulation of 3 or more delinquent parking citations which have a remaining balance due will be grounds for impoundment. Additionally, accumulation of more than 5 guilty citations paid or unpaid during the academic year (September 1 through August 31) is grounds for impoundment and will be grounds for impoundment upon receiving the 6th citation, and for each citation thereafter. In order for an impounded vehicle to be released all delinquent citations must be paid in full along with an impound fee. SUSPENSION: Accumulation of more than 10 guilty parking citations paid or unpaid during the academic year will be grounds for suspension of campus parking privileges for the remainder of the academic year. At the start of each academic year (September 1st) a fresh start in regard to the number of citations accrued during the previous academic year will be given. However, previous parking citations are not forgiven and you are still responsible for any outstanding balances due. The intent of this enforcement policy is to help control and reduce the amount of illegal parking on campus by holding repeat offenders accountable for their actions. Illegal parking reduces the amount of available parking and is unfair to those who have parking decals and properly adhere to UF regulations. |
