Parking Policy Change for Valet Parking at the Health Science Center Garages

Employees will no longer be allowed to use the valet parking service.

This change is necessary to accommodate the increased demand for patient and visitor parking for the Health Science Center and Shands.

Additional Blue Decal parking has been provided in the triangle lot west of the helipad.

Parking is an increasingly scarce commodity on campus and the cost of maintaining/enhancing/building these facilities is increasing. In fairness to the university community, events utilizing these facilities should share in the expense of them.

Accordingly, Event Parking Permits will be made available in a limited number of parking areas at a cost of $1.00 per vehicle per day to the various organizations sponsoring events on campus as approved by Transportation and Parking Services.

Events are defined as those occurrences requiring permits which would have a total cost greater than $15.00 (e.g. – 16 one day permits, 8 two day permits, 6 three day permits, etc.).

UF and Shands faculty and staff members share the ride to and from campus and:

    • Help improve air quality and conserve energy.
    • Reduce traffic and relieve parking congestion.
    • Cut wear and tear on your vehicle, gasoline and insurance costs.
    • Make new friends, reduce the stress of commuting alone and enjoy preferred parking at a nominal cost.
