General Information
UF and Shands visitors wishing to park in the academic core of campus must park in one of the pay visitor parking garages or metered parking spaces and pay the appropriate fee.

Visitors to UF’s main campus will find convenient parking in the UF Bookstore and Visitor Welcome Center garage at the Reitz Union. Shands visitors will find convenient parking in the Shands patient/visitor garages. Parking meters are available for all visitors needing short-term parking accommodations.

Disabled persons displaying a State of Florida issued disabled persons parking placard may park in disabled parking spaces, decal-restricted parking locations, or at parking meters without paying a fee.

Parking Fees
UF Bookstore and Visitor Welcome Center Garage: $5.00/day, $3.00/2 hours and $1.00/45 minutes
Shands patient/visitor garages: $4.00/day
Parking meter fee: $0.25/40 minutes with a 40 minute maximum time limit
Oversize vehicle metered parking: $3.00/day

Visitors requiring parking accommodations outside of the campus academic core during hours of restriction (7:30 am - 4:30 pm, Monday - Friday, unless signage in the area indicates otherwise) must park in a metered space or park at the UF Bookstore and Visitor Welcome Center garage and pay the appropriate fees.

Only visitors with the appropriate placard may park in disabled person parking spaces.

Important Rules
    • Parking restrictions are enforced and parking fees are collected from 7:30 am to 4:30 pm, Monday through Friday, unless signage indicates otherwise.
    • Parking in no parking zones, fire lanes and service drives is prohibited at all times.
    • Parking vehicles over a line or backing into spaces is prohibited.
    • Parking in metered spaces requires payment of the fee.
    • The pay parking facilities at the Shands Hospital and J. Hillis Miller Health Center during the posted hours of operation are for patients and visitors only.
    • All parking citations must be paid or appealed within 30 calendar days or a late fee will be assessed.


    All UF visitors must obey all parking rules and regulations and are subject to being cited if the rules are violated.
