Transportation and Parking Study and Consultant’s Recommendations
The transportation and parking study results and the consultant’s recommendations are now available for your review.
The consultant’s recommendations are based on stakeholder feedback from workshops, meetings, a campus-wide survey, and a comprehensive review of campus data and industry best practices. The recommendations are suggested improvements to transportation policies and infrastructure to address the campus’ transportation opportunities and strengthen the university’s transportation system. The recommendations are a comprehensive list of possible action items that are intended to:
- make the current transportation system safer and more efficient,
- position the university for future transportation and parking needs, and
- strengthen community partnerships.
The full slate of recommendations addresses all transportation modes and is costly. Additional vetting of the recommendations is required to identify priorities for spending and to make informed decisions that will lead to the best transportation and parking plan for the University of Florida. Your feedback is essential as we approach this stage of the planning process. Transportation and Parking Services has established the following email account to respond to your inquiries and collect feedback that pertains to the transportation and parking study and the consultant’s recommendations: TAPS.STUDY@ufl.edu. Please provide your feedback by the close of business on Friday, January 18, 2019.
Near-term transportation policy changes, along with an integrated vision for the university’s transportation network and supporting infrastructure, will be announced by the end of March of 2019.
